34-year-old Melissa resides in Conyers, GA during a big house on 11 acres of land. She made her dream of saving old dogs come true when she started a rescue called Old Dog Home, where she takes in older dogs in need of some TLC. “For the dogs that come to us and may be rehabilitated and adopted out, we’re getting to do so. We’ll do everything we will to offer them an opportunity at love and a family for his or her last years,” Melissa explained on Facebook. “For those that are too old or too sick, we’ll be their family. They’ll live here until its their time to travel , and once they do attend heaven.”
Melissa recently received an urgent call from Old Dog Home’s veterinary partner, who explained that a person had brought in his elderly dog to be euthanized because he “didn’t want to require care of her anymore.”
The dog was incredibly sweet and seemingly in pretty healthiness , so vets refused to euthanize her.
Although Old Dog house is full, Melissa couldn’t resist taking the dog, now named Holly, into her home.
Holly is around 10 to 12 years old and is as sweet as are often . After the original owner gave up the ghost, she moved from home until she was awakened with her current family.
They didn’t want her anymore because they already had two other dogs, and that they said Holly peed on the ground all the time, which the grandkids weren’t curious about her.To watch the video, click Next

Aside from some wife lumps and bumps, Holly seemed to be in a fine condition. The vet said she had a yeast infection, which is perhaps why she urinated tons in her last home. Holly is scared and confused but she is finally beginning to relax. Melissa wrapped her in blankets and held and snuggled her. It's been a while, Holly finally feels love, this is the first time. “My real calling in life is to point out folks that “old” doesn’t mean “dead”… Old dogs still have life and love left to offer ,” Melissa wrote. “They are remarkably resilient and forgiving, and that they need to have an opportunity at a Forever Family even as very much like any younger dog does.”
When the time is true , and Holly is healed both physically and emotionally, Melissa will find a loving home for Holly, where she is going to be placed with care and obtain to be spoiled and loved for the remainder of her life.
“And then i will be able to have another open spot, and I’ll save another old abandoned dog that no-one wanted,” Melissa continued. “That’s the dream, folks. That’s the dream!”
Nasty little brat for saying that about a dog. I hope someone tells her that they love another member of her family much more then her.
replydeleteThank goodness for people like Melissa. Bless her. This made me cry when I saw poor Holly's face & read about her wagging her tale - not know what this young child had said. But I cheered up when I read what Melissa said. Sweet Holly - I hope you find a forever loving home & stay healthy & be happy & loved, darling, for the rest of yr precious life.
