It all started when Greig lost his dog. He has grown up surrounded with animals as his parents were animal lovers as wellalso. He had a dog that was so close to him, and when it died, Steve Felt as if he couldn’t recover from the grief, even after months.
For this reason, he thought that the sole thanks to feel better was to try to something good. Therefore, even though he continued to need to take care of the dogs that gave up their ghosts, Greg visited his local shelter and adopted the fewest number of adoptable dogs they had.had. He decided to adopt a replacement dog to offer him all his love, rather than mourning for the one he lost.
He adopted a 12-year-old Chihuahua with a heart problem and bad knees. He named him Eeyore and gave him all his love and a spotlight. That was how he started having quite 10 pets in his house.
In an interview with The Dodo, Greig said that only 8 out of the ten dogs are his. One is owned by his roommate and then the other one is his sister’s dog, but they're still considerably a part of the pack, since his house is now considered as an animal ‘daycare.’
So, each morning, Greig wakes up at 5:00 to form breakfast for everybody and provides medicine to his senior pets, then he goes to figure, goes back home during lunch to see on the animals, then goes back to figure again. As long as he can complete the task in the schedule, he will walk the dog every day.
On weekends, he will buy pet necessities and food, accept appointments from the veterinarian, and do all other necessary things. It’s a troublesome job to be one fur-dad of a minimum of 10 pets, but Greig is happy and enjoys the corporate of all of them. Although he found that old dogs are the most special.
Senior dogs have fewer chances of being adopted in shelters because people usually search for puppies. Yet, they miss out on the fact that senior dogs are very easy to require care of. They want to take a nap and get along with other dogs, and most of them are gentler.
Greig says they're also wiser animals.
People who would visit his house would never tell that he lives with numerous pets, because they're mostly quiet and huddled in their napping corners.
Greig plans to continue what he’s doing and adopt a replacement pet once an older one passes away. He finds what he’s doing extremely rewarding, and it makes his lifestyle worthwhile.
