Shelter Dog Who Waited 15 years to Get Adopted Finally Finds Forever Home

This story shows, it’s never too late to seek out a home! A dog named Chip received Save-a-Pet Shelter when he was just 7 weeks old. Chip spent 15 years living at the shelter in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. He was well taken care of and well loved by shelter staff through all the years of his stay.

But when one among the shelter’s supporters learned about Chip and his failing health, she posted a plea to Facebook to find out if they might find a family to need him home, after the various years he was overlooked by potential adopters: “The Canis Minor within the attached photo is Chip and he's 15 years old. When Chip was a 7-week-old puppy, he was taken to Greenbush to save many pets. Today, 15 years later, Chip is still in Save a Pet. Chip has NEVER had a home, NEVER had a family to love and cherish him…” “His ENTIRE life has been spent…at a no-kill shelter here in Port Elizabeth. I can’t consider anything worse than to die having spent your ENTIRE life in an animal shelter. …he is much more happy that many thousands of other dogs out there but it's with great care sad that he will die never having had the experience of life during a home.

“Chip probably doesn’t have for much longer to measure , the features a skin disease, he has problems together with his eyesight and that I know I'm asking tons – actually I'm posing for a miracle (but I think in miracles). I'm posing for someone out there to breakthrough and open up their heart and their home for Chip in order that he can experience a loving home before he dies.” Her plea was answered by a person who saw her post and Chip’s picture and knew he had to assist. The shelter posted a photograph of Chip’s new dad with Chip and wrote, “Chip has been adopted! Chip has been looking forward to a home at Save A Pet for the past 15 years.home. We would like to send an excellent big many thanks to the person with the large HEART, Jaco Rademeyer. Jaco saw Chip and knew he had to offer this boy a home.” Prove that miracles do happen!
Chip was happily adopted as early as 2015. Save-a-Pet has other wonderful dogs available for adoption. Visit their  website for details on adoptable pets.
