No one deserves to be left behind. Once we adopt a dog, the deal is, it’s forever. there's no exception. For one dog, however, her callous owner didn’t seem to worry. Polly Hell Bull was left alone during a Santa Barbara Park, strapped to at least one of the benches.
Thankfully, she wasn’t there for long. All the local parks are patrolled several times throughout the day by animal services. Polly was found by an animal control officer who was baffled on why someone would do such a thing. The officer freed Polly and put her into her vehicle. That’s when she realized just how heartless her owner must are. Polly was completely blind. Are you able to imagine how scared she was? Polly had no idea where she was… and she or he couldn’t even see her owner walk off. She must’ve thought her owner was returning for her! The most heartbreaking thing is that when Polly was released from the belt tied to the bench, she did not dare to move.
The animal controller finally coaxed Polly from the bench to the distance and gave her a thorough inspection.checkup. TheyThey realized that she was just born.born. Her cruel owner used her for breeding, to sell her puppies, then dumped her when she was not needed. After returning to town, Jennifer Wales of the rescue organization heard about Polly. The 25-year animal rescue veteran visited the pound to select Polly up. While she had tons of experience with all kinds of dogs, she still had to realize Polly’s trust.
Wales had an excellent idea. She took Polly out for a cheeseburger. The dog not only enjoyed her delicious meal, she realized her new foster mom was one among the great ones. Wales said that Polly had her first good night’s sleep that first night as well as her. Without the loud barking and scary smells, Polly felt safe. Polly’s new foster mom wanted to possess her health extensively checked before deciding what sort of home she should attend. Her tests came back and then the news wasn’t good. She has a heart problem. More testing had to be done to find out if surgery could help her, but the rescue group needed to boost money for those specialized tests. Through a lot of diligence and a lot of kind donations, they did it.
The next set of tests came back and then the news was even worse. Her condition wasn’t operable. The vet said it was just to make her happy, which is exactly what Wales did. The vet couldn’t predict how long she had but Polly felt okay and what mattered most was, she was now with a loving foster mom. Polly would live every day to the fullest, being loved and spoiled. The vet confirmed that she likely bred puppies for several years which is what also led to her poor health. A backyard breeder had used her up then left her behind as trash — but now, Polly’s life was getting to be celebrated.
