A tiny orphaned kitten found a family and a big dog to be her best friend.
Morgan, a proud mom to 5 4-legged friends, wasn't getting to have a replacement cat, but a touch kitten found her way into her home.
A few months ago, Morgan Heard a kitten's meows coming from outside her farm. "We tried calling for her but couldn't find her within the thick layer of trees out behind our farm," Morgan told Love Meow. "We took one among our big cats bent where she was crying, and he sniffed her right out. She was during a little stump ."
They decided to chase the kitten away at the scene to determine if her mother cat would return, while monitoring her from a distance. After expecting a couple of hours, they knew that they had to intervene.
"When it got dark we got nervous about her because we survive a farm where foxes come around tons ," Morgan added. "So I went out and brought her inside. She couldn't see a thing and was covered in fleas."
They named the kitten Polly, got her a much-needed bath and removed all the pesky fleas off her coat. Paxton (aka Pax), the 12-year-old resident dog, heard the kitten's squeaks and came to see on her.
The gentle giant immediately took to the small feline and began caring for her. The kitten was drawn to the heat and nuzzled into his fur for comfort. She stopped crying, curled next to him and went right to sleep.
The tiny bundle of fur didn't want to be alone again, and Pax never left her side.
Morgan bottle fed Polly for 3 weeks until she was able to be weaned. Whenever it had been dinner time, Pax would wait patiently while watching his kitten gobble down the food.
As soon as she finished eating, he jumped right in and began the cleaning duties.
"Before she could bathe herself, Pax would clean all the bottle milk off her," Morgan shared amorously Meow. "He has taught her numerous dog things, including an off barking noise she makes."
Polly was like his little shadow, following her allies everywhere in the room.
The former stray has grown into a rambunctious kitten, filled with mischief. Parks let her play and wrestle with his tail, and was never interested in many of her antics.
