A sweet dog lost her foot after being forgotten on a sequence following the death of her owner. The Minneapolis-based organization, Safe Hands Rescue, shared the injured dog’s story with Facebook followers on Wednesday:
Rescue Never Stops. Meet Maeve. Maeve may be a tender spirit who found herself living at the top of a sequence. Her owner died and nobody stepped up to worry about her. Her feet were tangled and no one noticed. She endured excruciating pain as her foot swelled and then the metal dug into her flesh.
According to the non-profit group, Maeve wagged her tail when her rescuers arrived. They wrote: She still believes that people will help her. She still believed there was something better out there for her.
Maeve is currently being treated at an animal hospital in Kentucky. She needs an amputation to save lots of her life. The rescue agency is hopeful that folks will donate to assist Maeve get the life-saving care that she needs.
