Her family moved away and left her behind. Paris was scared and confused and had no idea where her family went.
A four-year-old Labrador retriever was dumped at the Harris County Animal Shelter in Houston, Texas, by her family once they moved away and decided to not take her with them. After being with a family for her whole life, Paris now found herself alone and terrified during a kennel. She was confused and expecting her family to return for her, but sadly, they never would.
The shelter staff hoped she would find a replacement loving home, or at the very least a family or rescue to travel to. A shelter was no place for a scared pup who had just been abandoned by her family. Luckily, Paris’ time at the shelter finally came to an end. She did find a family to adopt her, but they were inexperienced with handling timorous dogs like Paris and thought it might be best to offer her up.
Because of Paris’ nervous behavior around some people, it’s believed that Paris may are abused or mistreated by her original family. Sadly, this has left Paris untrusting of humans. Thankfully, Paris has since found an exquisite family to measure with, who are very patient and can help Paris learn to trust humans again before eventually finding a forever home.
