Relieved Homeless Puppy Clings To His Rescuer When He Knows He’s Finally Safe

“I honestly believe it was a huge relief for him. It was almost like he knew someone was going to help him. He didn’t move - he just snuggled into my arms and fell asleep. He knew he was safe.”

Some people are angels disguised in humans, as what they are doing for those in need restores our faith in humanity and provides us hope that eventually things are getting to recover.

TamaraTamara Johnson, the founder of Thai Street Paws Rescue, is one of them. This fierce lady is an animal advocate and makes sure every stray dog she stumbles upon gets their happy ending.

This time, she shares the story a few two-month-old puppy she later named Basil who was found wandering the streets all by himself. The sweet baby's belly is swollen, and the whole person is dumbfounded. The locals told Tamara how the pup’s mother was nowhere to be seen and his sister was hit by a car and died.

His health condition was concerning and Tamara couldn’t just leave him there as he was very likely to suffer his sister’s faith if left on their lonesome. He was way too tiny, and way too fragile to be ready to defend himself.

Without having any second thoughts, Tamara embraced the puppy and that they headed to her vehicle. That’s when the sweetest thing ever happened. Basil snuggled up against his rescuer, and his action melted our hearts.

“I honestly believe it had been an enormous relief for him,” Johnston told The Dodo. “It was almost like he knew someone was getting to help him. He didn’t move — he just snuggled into my arms and fell asleep. He knew he was safe.”

Basil has received much-needed medical assistance and is becoming a healthy and happy dog. Hopefully, Tamara would be ready to find a forever home for him, and until that happens, he’s getting to stay by her side.
