Cop Sees Retired K9 Dogs Living In Pure Misery, So He Builds Them A Cozy Home

This man was heartbroken over the community’s ungrateful treatment toward retired police dogs. He is now saving them from being put down and helping them live with dignity in their final days.

In the 13 years of serving in the local authorities in China, Officer Bai Yan has worked for several skilled police dogs.

He was under the impression that after retirement, the police dogs were found in comfortable homes by the authorities. But at some point, he discovered the tough truth about these selfless K9 dogs’ cruel fates.

Bai Yan was reduced to tears when he acknowledged that the majority of the retired dogs lived in starvation and neglect. They were being mercilessly euthanized, without even being considered for forever homes. He wasn’t ready to endure this appalling betrayal toward his loyal work comrades, and decided to try to something about it. Bai Yan used 1,000,000 Yuan ($150,000) from his own savings and built a retirement home for the dismissed police dogs. He gathered multiple senior police dogs on the kill list with severe illness and depression under one roof, giving them the feeling of real home for the first time. Owing to his dedicated efforts, one among his dogs miraculously healed from cancer just when the vets had given up!

Today, Bai Yan has also retired from police service, and spends most of his time tending to the dogs in his sanctuary. He exercises them, keeps them fit and helps them live a dignified life. After his story went viral, many organizations offered to fund him. But he graciously refused as he wanted to need care of his “family” all by himself. What a noble hero! Click on the video below to see how Bai Yan does his best for the retired police dog!
