A family in Washington County was surprised when their dog brought home a small cub. The baby animal, which weighed only 540 grams, was found dehydrated, and with no sign of its mother.
The cub was immediately transported to the Virginia Wildlife Center. There, the rehabilitation team immediately put it in the incubator and started feeding it. “This has been an excellent example of teamwork in providing for a wild animal,” said Amanda Nicholson, outreach director for the Wildlife Center.
