"I thank the Lord that the baby was alive, that could've been a lot worse. The baby could've been dead. I said to my neighbors, 'heaven sent Hel to rescue a newborn baby boy!'" people's lives, Many stories have been heard of dogs being heroes, whether it's alerting their family to a house fire, providing help when their owner is injured, or locating people who have gone missing.
The latter has been accomplished by a dog from Birmingham, England. He is being hailed as a hero for saving the life of a newborn baby boy who had been abandoned in a British park at The Mounds, off Shannon Road in Kings Norton. The incident happened when the dog, a Husky named Hel, was out for a walk with his owner, Terry Walsh. Hull approached the bushes and began to gently push a pile of blankets. It was a newborn baby who awakened from Hel's body heat and started crying. Walsh was taken aback by what He had discovered. The baby was just a few hours old when he was bundled in a blanket and left to die in the park.
They rushed the baby to the nearest hospital, where he was checked and, luckily, given the all-clear. If it hadn't been for Help, the baby would have died out there or been attacked by a wild animal. They named the baby George because he was discovered the day before St. George's Day. He is doing well, and West Midlands Police are now looking for his mother.
“I'm contacting George's mother. You are my primary concern right now, and we must do everything possible to ensure your safety I'm not sure about the circumstances surrounding George's birth, but as a parent myself, I know how hard it can be to become a parent,” Detective Inspector Neil Hunt said in a statement. “We are prepared to provide you with any assistance or support you may need. George is safe and sound, and your health and well-being are our top priorities – please know that you aren't in danger.”
Police have since released surveillance video of a woman seen walking along the road where George was abandoned before he was discovered. They think this is his mother, or that she is in possession of crucial information.
