Little Dog Refuses To Leave Kitten Side Unless They’re Rescued Together

Some people think that dogs and cats cannot be the best companions, but Morticia and Gomez managed to persuade the entire stadium in one day...

A Good Samaritan found a little dog, and a little black kitten huddled together between two portable toilets earlier this week. They found the couple at Hampton Soccer Park in Hampton, Virginia. The pets were squeezing themselves between two portable toilets. In the cramped quarters, a tiny Chihuahua bravely guarded a young black kitten. The animal lover had no idea where the two had come from or whether they had been left there. Whatever the case, they knew they had to assist the duo!

They made a post on Nextdoor, a nearby private social network. The post eventually made its way into the Facebook animal page, Lost & Found Pets of Hampton Roads, VA, in the hopes of finding owners of the two simply es.ca.ped. Angela Davis Ward and her daughter hurried to the scene after seeing the news. The dog would bark and growl if they tried to touch the kitten, protecting it at all costs.

The pup had learned they were not in danger by the time A.C. arrived, and officers were able to capture the dog without using a catch pole. It's always a better sign if you can get close enough to the animal to scratch it. The kitten seemed to have skin problems, so both were taken to the vet for a thorough examination.

Since they were a dog/cat bonded pair, there was no chance they'd be housed together at Animal Control. They are therefore unable to compel animals to be adopted in groups. The 2-year-old Chihuahua and the 10-month-old kitten seem to be confined or stray animals and can comfort each other. Turkan Ertugrul, the shelter's owner, had seen the original tweet. She'd been tossing and turning all night, hoping for news on the couple.

As soon as she learned the two were unclaimed, she rushed them into the rescue's foster care. In this way, they can request that the couple be adopted into their fur home together!
