The loyal dog emptied the toilet bowls and cupboards and kept returning to her dad's side where she was found on the brink of starvation.
Dropsaw and her owner live in a small village on the outskirts of Brisbane, Australia. They stayed alone and walked around together because there was no one else around.
However, because the man was so isolated, no one noticed when he had a heart attack. Dropsaw was left to fend for herself, and six weeks later, she was discovered sleeping close to her owner's body. In the first two days, the dog drank all of her water and ate all of her food, forcing her to scavenge the home for whatever she might find.
She'd emptied the toilet bowls and ransacked the cupboards, but she kept coming back to her owner's side. When she was rescued, the unfortunate dog had lost nearly a third of her body weight. When the community learned of her need, they banded together to assist her. Dropsaw was taken in by Red Collar Rescue, a non-profit organization in Queensland.
Chris of Red Collar Rescue agreed to foster the puppy, but the plan backfired when Chris and her husband, Bob, fell in love with her and chose to adopt her! Not only did Dropsaw get a second chance at life, but she also did so with a person with the same name as her former owner.
