Senior Dog Abandoned By His Family Was Found Depressed On Street & Begging For Food

Ray, an 8-year-old Labrador Retriever, was found wandering alone in the streets of Torrance, California, after being dumped by his family. His eyes were sad and crusty. Hunger had rendered his body skeletal-thin, and his coat-fur was missing in places.

It is devastating for a dog to be abandoned by his family. Family members may refuse to care for a sick or old dog, but they don't realize how much pain it will cause the dog once it abandons it.

After being abandoned by his family, the 8-year-old Labrador Retriever Ray was found wandering alone on the streets of Torrance, California. His eyes were sad and crusty. Hunger had rendered his body skeletal-thin, and his coat-fur was missing in places.

Ray was rescued by workers at the Carson Asylum in California. The shelter volunteers helped Ray gain back a number of his health, but he remained depressed. Soon, he was put up for adoption. It seems that the preference for advanced dogs is very low.

Update: Ray has been adopted! Ray’s love for humans hasn’t changed one bit. He still responded enthusiastically to everyone.amorously. Seeing him so sad and dejected in the video just broke our hearts. We hope Ray nurses back his spirits fast and continues to be showered amorously and care. we adopted a 14 year old sheltie. She must have been beaten when she barked, so when we got her, she would bark under her breath. We were at a dog park and she was just wandering around. I barked at her several times. On the second bark, she started barking and chasing around the other dog who was fetching a ball. She must have barked continuously for 30 minutes chasing the dog.
After that, she barked around the house all the time, which was just fine.

Taught mine to whisper. But NEVER beat him. Hotdogs work just fine for a teaching aide.

My heart goes out to that poor Lab. He's so young for 8 for his family to abandon him. I have a black lab who will be 14 this December. He sometimes have trouble getting up at times but does, but as long as his appetite and going to potty are still strong he's at home. When the time comes then we will do the right thing with dignity.
