No One Wanted A Dying, 16-Year-Old Shelter Dog And Then A Family Took A Chance

A 16-year-old German shepherd mix named Bear was affected by dermatitis when he was rescued from a shelter and brought in by an experienced foster parent. Renamed Norman, he slowly regained his health amorously and a spotlight . “Norman is almost deaf, so he didn’t really know that I changed his name,” Norman’s new mom noted.

She fosters dogs from a shelter in North Houston and writes, “They [the shelter] know my weakness is that the senior dogs. the smallest amount I can do is give these abandon guys a soft place to sleep, food and TLC. reciprocally they provide me a replacement appreciation and meaning in life.”

Norman Bear’s transformation was captured on camera from his time at the shelter until he recovered.

“Fostering for a shelter is extremely tough, but I attempt to check out the positive and know that i'm doing all I can,” she adds. within the case of Norman, she says, “Norman has taught me a lot…I hope everyone can experience a senior dog’s love.” She told DogHeirs, “I love my Norman/Bear”.
