Rottweiler Found With Nose And Ears Savagely Cut Off Finds Forever Family

In the time since Baron was found brutally disfigured, he came to the attention of a woman who had lost her rescued Rottie. That's when something wonderful happened. And wait until you the latest photo of Baron. Wow!

Even the most experienced dog rescuers were terrified by this sight. The Michigan Humane Society rescued a Rottweiler. It was found wandering around the streets of Detroit, with its nose and ears stopped.



“It appears that somebody purposely maimed this poor dog, which has caused it an excellent deal of suffering,” MHS said during a Facebook post. The dog now named Baron was found near Livernois and Warren on Detroit’s southwest side on Tuesday, January 17, 2017. After someone called and reported seeing the injured dog, MHS rushed to rescue him.




Baron was taken to MHS’s excellent animal care center to be treated for his injuries. His vet said, “Baron is doing remarkably well considering his injuries.” He’s now stable and on pain medication and antibiotics. Here’s the newest video from MHS, giving the newest update on Baron. Since the news about the poor baron came out, the information reward that led to the arrest and conviction of the responsible person has increased from US$2,500 to US$11,200.





Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Michigan Humane Society Cruelty Investigation Department at (313) 872-3401. In their latest survey update, MHS stated that they need to receive a lot of tips and are continuing to investigate the community where the Baron was found. “This quiet cruelty is unacceptable. we'd like to be a voice for these animals and as a community we'd like to talk through our strong actions to form sure this doesn’t happen again.” Ramos added “this animal deserves justice.”

Update: March 5, 2017 Baron has found a forever home! A few months after the Baron was found severely injured and underwent several operations, the lovely Rorty has a family! The family had a rescued Rottie in the past and are thrilled to be taking Baron home. Now the sole thing that might make Baron’s story better is that if the criminals were found and delivered to justice.
