Unwanted dog spared from euthanasia still looking for a home after 500 days in shelter

Buddy was surrendered by his owner, who asked to have the dog euthanized. Thankfully vets spared his life — but 500 days later, Buddy still hasn't found a new home.

We hope this beautiful dog finally gets adopted soon!

It’s always heartbreaking when pets are surrendered by their possessors — especially when said possessors actually want the canine to be put to sleep. That was the sad story for one canine — and unfortunately, effects didn’t get much better from there though the canine got to live, he’s spent 500 days staying for a new ever home. But this canine has n’t lost stopgap, and his caregivers hope there’s a perfect family out there nearly. Buddy, a 10- time-old terrier, has been at the RSPCA Brent Knoll Animal Centre in Somerset, England longer than any other canine. He arrived there all the way back in 2020, brought by stagers after his former possessors had tried to have him euthanized.

The RSPCA says that Buddy had a “ lower than ideal relationship” with the proprietor “ There was a clear breakdown in communication between them and this redounded in misconstructions,” they wrote. Thankfully, the stagers refused their request, sparing the canine’s life and hoping he could have a alternate chance with a new family. Despite his worried history, his caregivers at the RSPCA have called Buddy an “ tender chap” and a “ cute lad.” And while his former proprietor gave him up due to some grueling geste, he’s greatly bettered with lots of love and training.

Despite all this, still, Buddy lately marked his 500th day in the sanctum. He has been at the RSPCA branch longer than any other canine. But they're still holding out stopgap that Buddy will find a perfect home “ Buddy has been loving life then with us … but as much as we love him, we ca n’t help craving to see him move on to his new home,” the RSPCA wrote on Facebook. But given Buddy’s history, he ’ll need a stress-free home, with possessors who can continue to show him the love and attention he needs. “ Buddy is going to need a veritably special home with conscientious possessors who have time and tolerance to help him live the happiest life possible,” his relinquishment runner reads. “ This life will need to be free from battle, other pets and other linked stressors.”

So not every home is right for Buddy, but the RSPCA is hoping there's still a perfect family for him out there nearly. And whoever takes him in will have a loving, sportful companion. At 10 times old, Buddy is no pup, but he’s still bounding with energy “ Do n’t be wisecracked by his age, this sprat’s still FULL of sap!!” they wrote on Facebook. 500 days is far too long for any canine to be in a sanctum. We hope that after everything this poor canine has been through, he finds a loving ever home soon!

. Still, you can reach out to the RSPCA North Somerset Branch via Buddy’s relinquishment runner! , If you're interested in espousing Buddy. Still, be sure to spread the word by participating this story so we can find this great canine a home! , If not.
