In Kansas City, Missouri, hidden cameras for unlawful dumping assisted in the rescue of an abandoned puppy. His owners abandoned the 3-year-old Pit Bull mix at a renowned illegal dumping site in the city.
The white dog is seen being shoved off the truck and then racing after his owner's automobile in the video.
While municipal inspector Alan Ashurst viewed the photographs of the dog, now named Mojave, he confesses he "went into a small fury" a week later when revisiting the film.
The code enforcement usually notices individuals dumping out trash, tires, and debris. However, witnessing the dog enraged Ashurst.
Ashurst enlisted the assistance of an animal health and public safety officer he knew, and the two men set out to find and rescue Mojave. They brought a cage for the dog and found him on their second day of searching. All it needed was a can of dog food to get Mojave to join them.
Mojave was transported to the KC Pet Project animal shelter to be adopted. He didn't linger long.
"Wow, that was fast!" Mojave had only been at the shelter for 30 minutes when this wonderful couple walked in, met him, and fell in love with him, according to the shelter. They were unaware of his narrative, but we were able to inform them of it.
He'll have a new doggy best buddy to play with at home, as well as a family to adore and treat him. Congratulations, Mojave!"
Investigators identified Mojave's vehicle plate and charged the guy with animal abandonment, not having a legal pet license, allowing an animal to go at large, and failing to neuter a Pit Bull breed.
