Old Dog With Cancer Thrown Onto The Streets Waited 3 Weeks For Help To Arrive

Hope For Paws received a report about a stray wounded dog in need of assistance.

When rescuers came, they discovered her sleeping outside of a nearby home, where she had been for three weeks waiting for assistance.

She was shy and hiding the first day she was there. She had a hard time coping with the loud noises of the fireworks on July 4th and continued barking, but the homeowner walked outside to calm her.

Rescuers offered her some food, which she gladly took, and put her on a leash. When she stood up, they spotted tumors all over her tummy and realized something was amiss with her rear limb.

Bluebell, the dog, wagged her tail and appeared glad that someone was finally assisting her.

They took her to the vet, who diagnosed her with two types of cancer: mast cell tumors and mammary adenocarcinoma. In addition to her cancer, she had an extremely severe tooth infection.

They checked her for a microchip, but she didn't have one.

Bluebell needed a peaceful bubble bath to make her feel better and wash away the filth after weeks of living on the streets.

Bluebell was subsequently operated on to have all of her tumors removed. Fortunately, X-rays revealed that the cancer had not spread.

When she felt better, she moved to live with a foster family via Lionel's Legacy. She is now looking for a forever home.
