A dog had two deformed legs from birth, making walking challenging. Because they thought she would never have a good quality of life, her breeder dropped her off to be put to death. However, they were entirely mistaken!
A family prevented the 5-week-old dog from being put to death. Tyra was brave and spirited even though she weighed only half a pound. For a few months, the family cared for her while she developed her walking skills and gained strength. She is among the happiest dogs, so she deserves to live a normal life like all dogs.
Tyra adjusts to her new lifestyle
When Tyra's breeder left her at a clinic to be killed, her life was still worth saving. Tyra was given to Homeward Trails Animal Rescue, which found a foster family for the puppy. Tyra settled in right away and grew close to the family's 70-pound black Lab.
The foster parent of Tyra said, "We didn't know what her long-term care needs would be when we brought her home, but we were determined to find out alongside her."
Tyra developed her own mobility and play skills despite not having fully developed front legs. She underwent physical therapy before being fitted for a set of wheels that allowed her to run as fast as her canine friends.
Tyra's foster family immediately adored her spunky, independent nature. Her foster parents decided to adopt her because she adapted so well to their home. She is now as content as she can be as a result of them!
Future Happiness for All Time
Tyra has been living with her extended family for over a year and is getting used to them more and more each day. She likes meeting new people, trying new things, and having dogs around. After a long day, she enjoys cuddling with her people and her canine sibling. She is quite at ease with her wheels.
Tyra's human said, "We're really impressed by her joy and tenacity. She also possesses a sizable personality and an energized spirit.
Tyra might not look like your typical dog, but she doesn't seem to mind or give a damn. She doesn't let her disability limit her because she is just as capable as any other dog. Tyra likes to run around and show everyone that all dogs have a chance at life. Tyra is fortunate to have found her wonderful family because for rescue dogs, a permanent home could make all the difference.
